The borough recently released the following update regarding the steel revetment project, and I have added videos and photos of my own below.
“The Steel Contractor EIC will be working this Saturday August 16 th driving steel in the area of Herbert Street. A second machine which arrived this morning will start driving Friday in the area of 1063 Ocean Ave. and proceed north to Lyman. The Contractor has been averaging 140 to 200 feet a day. The 2nd phase of the project will begin Monday with the instillation of the caps and fabric, work will start 700 feet north of Herbert. The contractor has covered most of the walk ways in the center of town with sand to allow for easier and safer access to the beach. The Borough reminds all residents and visitors to please stay clear of the sheet pile construction area for safety reasons. “
