ROUTE 35 NOTIFICATION FOR ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE
In an effort to help alleviate traffic congestion along the Route 35 corridor on Saturday, March 8 before and after the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade held in Seaside Heights, NJDOT has been working with county and local officials to make traffic improvements.
· The ramp from Route 37 eastbound to Route 35 northbound has been restriped to have two lanes available for incoming traffic.
· Beginning at 1pm, Hamilton Avenue in Seaside Heights will be converted into two lanes westbound only and they will continue all the way to Pelican Island where the highway expands to three lanes.
· For parade-day only, temporary traffic signals within the construction zones along Route 35 through Mantoloking and Bay Head will be monitored by NJDOT traffic operations specialists and will be adjusted as necessary to alleviate delays as much as possible.
NJDOT recommends motorists use Route 37 as their primary route to and from Seaside Heights for the parade. Saturday’s warm weather forecast may encourage tourists to visit the event. Motorists should be aware that this is an active construction zone and should allow for more travel time.
Variable Message Signs around the area have been and will continue to post alerts advising motorists to expect delays.
