Last week, the state and federal government approved a plan to install approximately four miles of sheet steel along the oceanfront in Mantoloking and Brick, to protect those towns.  The steel revetment will resemble the steel that is currently in place at Herbert Street in Mantoloking, and will come at little or no cost to the local governments – costs will be shared by the state and federal governments.  This measure will provide temporary protection to the towns until the Army Corps beach replenishment takes place.  You can read more here.
