It was recently announced that Mantoloking plans to adjust its property tax assessments for the 2014 tax year.    This of course is necessary due to the fact that the town sustained so much damage during Sandy.  Almost of all of the properties in town received damage from Sandy, and many were destroyed.

Mayor Nebel is quoted as saying “The taxable value of property in Mantoloking was reduced by the storm. We hope to get the assessed value much closer to the real value.”

As of the writing of this article, there are 14 parcels of land on the market in Bay Head and Mantoloking.  Many of these are vacant, while others contain the remains of damaged homes.
