“Changes to the parking ordinance have been suggested by the police department to meet the new ACOE requirements along with additional changes to accommodate parking in high traffic areas.
Please review the changes that are presented in the attachment and make comment to the police department by May 5th via the Chiefs email at;
Subject: parking changes
This Ordinance will be re-introduced on May 16th with a 2nd reading and Public Hearing on June 20th.
Two of the biggest changes:
All areas where there was a 2 hour parking limit will be increased to 4 hours
East Avenue and all streets off of East Avenue on the South side will now be unlimited
Please note that this ordinance does not address the parking on Rt 35 (as mandated by the Army Corps of Engineers), as the state controls and has already approved the parking in themid-block.”
