The Mantoloking Office of Emergency Management now operates an Emergency Radio Station at 1670AM. This radio station operates 24 hours a day. Under normal circumstances, it broadcasts the NOAA weather radio, which includes all normal alerts, watches, and warnings, but this broadcast can be interrupted to share emergency messages specific to Mantoloking as needed. This supplements the Reverse 911 system, email notifications, and website as yet another means of communication in the event of an emergency. The fact that it is accessible without a computer or smartphone is also a benefit to those less comfortable with technology.
