The National Flood Insurance Program has extended the deadline for filing Sandy-related flood insurance claims. If homeowners have discovered additional damage from Sandy that was not claimed in initial flood insurance claims, they now have more time to do so.
“”If homeowners come across additional damage from Sandy’s flood waters that may have initially gone undetected, they are eligible to file a supplemental flood insurance claim,” say’s the governor’s office. “Before this extension, any supplemental claims would have to be filed by Oct. 29, 2013.” The NFIP memorandum can be found here, and the full news article can be found here.
