Below is the most recent report (March) regarding the construction of the new Mantoloking Borough Hall.  The following report was first published on the borough website on March 17, 2017.  In short, the project is currently experiencing delays due to contamination, permits, and safety concerns regarding overhead wires.

REPORT OF THE BOROUGH HALL BUILDING COMMITTEE – MARCH 2017

PROJECT ADMINISTRATION:

  • Wallace Brothers has all building permits except generator. This will be obtained later.

  • Four of five residences have been surveyed by Vibra-Tech. Fifth should be soon.

  • Soil testing revealed elevated levels of Chlordane in one location. Additional testing to be done to verify findings and determine extent of contamination.

  • Excavation of lot resulted in much concrete below ground. Previous geotechnical reports indicate likely existence of more.

  • Ground Breaking February 21, 2017.

STATUS OF CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS:

  • Contractor Office Trailer on Site.

  • Much concrete already dug up, more to follow.

  • Continued discussion about location of wires over site. All covered by OSHA. Must comply

WORK COMPLETED:

  • High Tension wire pole shored up, survey completed to determine actual placement of wires.

SCHEDULE:

  • 344 Day base line schedule submitted by Wallace using Notice to Proceed Date. Due to additional testing and wire location issues, this will be modified. Updated schedule will be made available as soon as possible.

None for this period.

PAYMENT REQUESTS:

  • No final submittals for this period.

ANTICIPATED DATE FOR PILE DRIVING

  • Delayed due to contamination, cement, high tension wires. Will advise as soon as have a date.
