AARP Questions Verizon’s Decision Not to Restore Landline Service in Post-Sandy Mantoloking

As many of you may have already heard, Verizon does not plan to restore traditional phone line service in Mantoloking (and other storm damaged areas).  Verizon is offering a wireless service that will connect your barrier island home to their system on the mainland, Comcast continues to offer their internet-based phone service that it did prior to Superstorm Sandy.  Both of these services are traditionally not as reliable as the old fashioned traditional phone lines that we are familiar with.
